Digital Cameras - What is the relationship between the CCD and the number of pixels?
What is the relationship, if any, between CCD size and the number of pixels in an image.
The more the sensor the better - especially in low light and high ISO settings. Manufacturers used megapixels as a marketing tool because most people think (wrongly) that the megapixels, the better. So we have digital cameras sensors small 12 with little 15MP. They look good at ISO 100 and a 4x6 print, but try to use ISO 800 and make a 11x14 print and you do not like the results.
